Job Summary

RUMA Medical is seeking an experienced, growth-minded Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to help grow and lead our Neuro Wellness / Mental Wellness division within a modern, multidisciplinary medical practice.

This is a unique opportunity for a clinician who combines strong psychiatric fundamentals with a whole-person, root-cause mindset and wants to practice in a collaborative model alongside functional medicine, wellness, and regenerative medicine teams.

The ideal candidate has at least 2+ years of PMHNP experience (preferred), prioritizes patient safety, and is excited to help build an innovative mental wellness service line that includes psychiatric care, integrative mental wellness support, and advanced brain-health pathways.

RUMA Medical is a high-end medical practice in Lehi, Utah, focused on helping patients transform the way they look, feel, and live through an integrated approach to wellness. Our services span aesthetics, functional medicine, regenerative medicine, and now a growing brain health / neuro wellness / mental wellness vertical.

We are building a collaborative, evidence-informed model that supports mental wellness by addressing both psychiatric symptoms and contributing factors such as hormones, thyroid health, gut health, inflammation, nutrient status, and lifestyle patterns.

Position Type / Work Structure

Independent Contractor (1099)

Full-time opportunity as patient volume and program growth expand

On-site in Lehi, Utah

Schedule to be coordinated with clinic operations and patient demand

Some flexibility may be available depending on visit type and workflow

Key Responsibilities

Psychiatric Evaluation & Medication Management

  • Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and follow-up visits
  • Diagnose and treat common outpatient psychiatric conditions within PMHNP scope
  • Provide psychiatric medication management and monitor treatment response
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical presentation, history, and goals
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant charting/documentation
  • Order and interpret labs and diagnostic testing as clinically appropriate
  • Identify high-risk presentations and follow crisis/escalation workflows appropriately
  • Refer to higher levels of care, specialists, or emergency services when indicated

Integrative Mental Wellness / Root-Cause Approach

  • Evaluate potential contributors to mental and cognitive symptoms through a whole-person lens
  • Collaborate with RUMA’s functional medicine team to support optimization of :
    • Hormones
    • Thyroid function
    • Gut health
    • Inflammation
    • Nutrient deficiencies
    • Lifestyle and recovery factors
  • Participate in creating care plans that support long-term mental wellness and brain health outcomes

Neuro Wellness / Brain Health Program Growth

  • Help build and refine RUMA’s mental wellness and brain health vertical
  • Contribute to development of systems, patient flow, and care pathways
  • Support clinical quality and consistency as the service line grows
  • Collaborate across departments for internal referrals and continuity of care
  • Participate in program growth initiatives and feedback loops to improve patient experience

Advanced Modalities & Adjunctive Services (Training-Dependent)

  • Participate in ketamine-related care pathways (screening, eligibility, monitoring, documentation) within licensure, scope, and protocols
  • Collaborate in TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) workflows and patient evaluation pathways
  • Integrate advanced wellness and brain-health supports as trained and appropriate to scope
  • Follow RUMA protocols and safety standards for all adjunctive services

Team Collaboration & Clinical Standards

  • Work collaboratively with functional medicine, wellness, and other providers
  • Participate in team meetings, case collaboration, and clinical trainings
  • Follow all clinical policies, safety protocols, and escalation procedures
  • Uphold high standards of professionalism, communication, and patient experience
  • Support a positive, accountable, growth-oriented culture

Required Qualifications

Active Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) license (Utah) or ability to obtain Utah licensure

Active NPI

Active DEA license/registration (or ability to obtain prior to start, depending on role requirements)

Experience performing psychiatric evaluations and medication management

Strong clinical judgment and patient safety mindset

Excellent communication and documentation skills

Professional, reliable, and emotionally mature

Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary practice environment

Preferred / Qualifications

2+ years of PMHNP experience in outpatient psychiatry, mental health, or behavioral health

Private practice or cash-pay practice experience

Experience with integrative psychiatry, functional psychiatry, or root-cause mental wellness models

Familiarity with ketamine therapy and/or TMS

Trauma-informed care experience

Interest in cognitive health, performance, resilience, and brain optimization

Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort helping grow a newer service line

Experience educating patients and building long-term therapeutic relationships

  • RUMA charting & documentation systems training

  • Mold / heavy metal training
  • IV therapy training (NAD+, methylene blue, vitamins)
  • Brain health-specific blood work training (serum & genetic)
  • Training on peptide protocols
  • Parasite testing / detox protocol training
  • Extensive regenerative medicine training
  • RUMA-specific mental-wellness intake flow
  • Internal referral pathways between aesthetic, functional, and regenerative verticals
  • Safety-protocol training (crisis management, red-flag identification, escalation workflow)
  • Collaborative-care pathways across RUMA disciplines
  • Collaborative guidance with our associated psychiatrist, Dr. Watson

Training scope and progression are role-, licensure-, and protocol-dependent.
